Danse Serpentine by the lumiere brothers

Im completly fascinated with this! Its from 1896,
black and white but the artist hand
colored the individual slides somehow

Alexander McQueen gets his inspiration from Moths, Avatar, and Alien

These are incredible prints, and all inspired by moths...really!?
It just shows that the most unexpected things
are sometimes the most inspiring

Inspiration was seen from the story board sketches
(which I wasn't able to get ahold of),
and can be noticed from
the makeup to the hair to the color scheme to
the whimsical, surreal, alien atmosphere
The hair resembles the shapes of the ears, and there are a lot of braids

The makeup added structure to the models faces resembling the avatars

This picture really looks like it could have been the direct
inspiration for the print above it, and follows many of the colors
predicted by Pantone for spring 2010.
McQueen's whole collection follows many of
these colors especially in the blue purple and yellow
in somewhat deeper hues

The line also shows inspiration from Alien. It's easy to see due to the
metallic plating, similiar shapes,
and alien oddities.

I haven't heard McQueen himself say that these were his inspirations but
this collection is gaining tons of attention, and its understandable.
I am completly in love with the whole concept of the collection, and am in awe of the creativity.
It's also amazing to see garments that are noticeably inspired by something and not copied,
I love seeing how one idea morphed dozens of times into a new, bigger, better idea

Calla 2010 lookbook

I love this collection
but what I love more is the designers biography
because there's nothing that she did to make it
that I'm not capable of doing

Calla Haynes, 29, born in Toronto, based in Paris, is the designer behind the new label CALLA. She attended Parsons School of Design in both New York and Paris. After an initial internship with Robert Normand, she worked with Olivier Theyskens for nearly five years at Rochas and Nina Ricci. Using the textile design skills she honed with Theyskens, she went on to design prints for clients including Jeremy Laing, Alexander Wang, Thomas Engel Hart and Erin Fetherston.

Calla is inspired by the “coquine” type of woman and her clothes express this coy and sexy sentiment. She believes that fashion design should focus not only on how a woman looks, but also how she feels in the clothes. Her goal is to provide women with a luxury brand that is modern, accessible and visually unique, with her strong print designs as the foundation of each collection.

Italian Clutches to Die For

I have never been a huge handbag person but these are amazing.
Italian leather and satin clutches with perfect details.
http://www.jtitalia.com/
The website is full of these mini clutches inspired by different elements
My favorite being the Armor category

The best part is that the company was started by two young designers from FIT
I'm starting a new penny jar today for one

W Magazine Photoshoot

Even though this is from last year
it always stands out in my mind as a favorite.
I am in love with the antique feel and look.
This will be inspiration forever!

Advertisement for a German Lingerie Boutique

This video pretty much speaks for itself.
I mean to give off no religious opinions or statements,
but simply that there is a mystery to lingerie that is conveyed
in this video, and that really anyone can wear it.

Mila Kunis for BlackBook Magazine

I adore this photo shoot! The monochromatic colors, Mila Kunis's gorgeousness, the messy hair, the Camaro(for Rj) of course, and the styling. A lot of the garments show a way to incorporate hints of lingerie. Garments are from a wide range of designers, my favorite being Gaultier, Temperley London, and Agent Provocateur!
